Head coach Rick Tocchet expressed his frustrations regarding the Vancouver Canucks' inconsistency following Tuesday's 6-1 defeat to the Winnipeg Jets at the Canada Life Center.
The defeat marks a troubling trend for the Canucks, who, despite ending a four-game losing streak with a 3-0 shutout victory over the Leafs, have now lost five of their last six games.
In the post-game interview, Tocchet emphasized the challenges his team has faced in maintaining consistency, highlighting the difficulties in executing the fundamental aspects of the game.
"It's hard to be consistent, right? It's hard to do the right things all the time. It's hard, it's hard to go through people. It's hard to serve properly. It's hard to reload properly. It's hard to get the pucks out when we need to. It's hard to take pucks on the net, and you can't do it once in a while if you want to be a good team," Tocchet said.
The Vancouver Canucks have a 19-14-10 record and 48 points after 43 games. They are fifth in the Pacific Division and a point behind the second-placed Calgary Flames in the West's wild card standings.
The Canucks will hope to bounce back when hosting the LA Kings at Rogers Arena on Thursday. The puck drops at 10 p.m. ET.
