With almost nine minutes left in the second period, the New York Rangers were down 5-1 during a power play. They were about to lose their third straight game and everyone looked under pressure. A hockey fan "Stat Boy Steven" with reach in the hockey community shared a post mentioning Mika Zibanejad.
"Mika Zibanejad looks like he's about to break down in tears." the tweet was captioned.
Soon, other fans joined in the comment section to talk about the Rangers and Zibanejad.
"Buy him out. He’s been useless for a while now," a fan said.
"It’s the whole team playing bad, not just Mika, don’t you get it🤨" another fan said in support of Mika.
"#nyr fans have had the same look on their faces watching him play for the last year," one fan mentioned.
"Maybe DJ Z-Bad should drop the puck and pick up the turntables again! Another Lollapalooza set might be just what he needs to recharge his hockey mojo," a fan said.
Here are some more reactions from fans on X:
"I feel so bad for him. 8.5 million a year to s8ck at his job. Must be a tough life. Like a spoiled kid when they’re mom tells them no," a fan wrote.
"For watching hockey purposes, I need him to figure it out or be not on the team. But on a human level it's really hard to watch every time this happens to a guy. The only thing you know how to do really well isn't working anymore and you're thinking about how time is catching up." another fan wrote.
"We are stuck with Mika… he wont go anywhere. Time to take some time off and reset, keep playing is not helping at all." one fan shared.
