NHL Fantasy projects Patrick Kane to score 68 points in the upcoming season. Last season, Kane recorded 47 points (20 goals, 27 assists) in 50 games with the Detroit Red Wings. He was second on the team in even-strength goals (18) and shots on goal per game (2.94).
Although three seasons have passed since his 92-point season with the Chicago Blackhawks, Kane still has strong offensive potential. That said, the NHL recently posted their projected point total for "Showtime" on X (formerly Twitter), and also asked the fans for their own point projections.
The responses were mixed as some thought that injuries could limit Kane’s season. Meanwhile, others were more optimistic as they predict 75 points if the right winger stays healthy.
"60-70 points minimum if he stays healthy," a fan said.
"Not likely but I could see him getting 85+," a fan hoped.
"Smashing the over, but only if he stays healthy," another fan commented.
Patrick Kane re-signs with Red Wings for 2024-25 Season
On July 1, the Detroit Red Wings announced that Kane signed a one-year contract extension. The deal is worth $4 million, with an additional $2.5 million in incentives.
He rejoined the Red Wings in November after undergoing a hip surgery, and quickly contributed with 20 goals and 27 assists across 50 games. Although Detroit missed the playoffs for the eighth straight year, Kane is still hopeful about the team's future and aims to help them reach the playoffs as he enters his 18th NHL season.
He won three Stanley Cup titles with the Chicago Blackhawks and has 1,284 career points, making him the second-highest-scoring American-born player in NHL history (behind Mike Modano). As for individual awards, Kane has won the Hart Trophy, Art Ross Trophy and Conn Smythe Trophy.
He was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in 2017.
