Hockey fans had mixed reactions to the announcement that Twenty One Pilots will perform at the 2025 NHL Stadium Series. The game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Detroit Red Wings will take place at Ohio Stadium on March 1, 2025.

The NHL shared the news on December 2, along with details about the game’s broadcast and tickets. Ohio State students can buy discounted tickets, while the general public can buy them through Ticketmaster. Twenty One Pilots are currently on tour supporting their album Clancy, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

NHL insider David Pagnotta posted the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating:

"The NHL has announced that @twentyonepilots will perform during one of the intermissions at the 2025 NHL Stadium Series game between #CBJ & #LGRW at Ohio Stadium on March 1."

Following Pagnotta's post, NHL fans began reacting on X.

"How about getting artists people actually care about and will attract attention to the sport? Jeez the nhls marketing team has to be one of the worst in all of major sports," a fan said.

"21 people on the same stage that's gonna have a lot of crowding on stage!," another fan commented.

The 2025 NHL Stadium Series will also mark Twenty One Pilots' return to Columbus

Twenty One Pilots is a band from Columbus, Ohio. Tyler Joseph, the lead vocalist, and drummer Josh Dun both grew up there. Tyler also attended Ohio State University. The band is now famous worldwide.

On March 1, 2025, Twenty One Pilots' 2025 NHL Stadium Series performance will be special because the band returns to their hometown. Currently, Twenty One Pilots are on a world tour for their album Clancy. Some of their performance will be shown on the game broadcast.
