Oilers forward Evander Kane’s fiancee Mara Teigen did an Instagram Q&A session with her followers on Saturday. While addressing some of the questions, Teigen also shared some insights into how her political allegiance shifted over time.
In response to a follower’s query whether she is a supporter of the Republican Party or the Democrats, Teigen clarified that she is now a Republican. She even added President-elect Donald Trump’s famous slogan “Make America Great Again” as a hashtag.
“I was a democrat before. But after these past few years, and becoming a mom I am soooooo much a republican now. #makeamericagreatagain”

Teigen addressed a few other questions regarding her current routines and future plans of a wedding. When asked if she has already started planning their wedding, Teigen wrote:
“I get asked wedding questions a lot. Right now we are focusing on the birth of our new baby girl, and then once I’m settled with having four young kids, I think then I’ll be ready to start planning. I’m in no rush at all and I want it to be as natural and stress-free as possible.”
Evander Kane and Mara Teigen have two sons together, Iverson and Hendrix. Kane also has a daughter, Kensington, from his previous marriage with Anna Kane. Teigen and Kane are now co-parenting the three children.

During the same Q&A session, Mara Teigen talked about her pregnancy and how she handles negativity in her life. She mentioned that the couple are expecting their first baby girl together in mid-April this year.
“Coming this spring 🌸🌸🌸 I have high risks this pregnancy. So will have to have a planned C Section the soonest it is safe. Most likely mid-April,” she wrote.
Tegen also shared that the pregnancy had been tough for her, both physically and emotionally. She’s been focusing on her health this time, eating clean, resting a lot, and walking when she can since exercising is hard.
She also mentioned how important it is to take care of her mental health, especially after struggling with depression during her previous pregnancies, so she can be a good mom and partner.
When it comes to negativity, Mara shared that she keeps it simple. She ignores anything or anyone that isn’t good for her or her family and protects her peace by not engaging with toxic energy or negative people.
