The PWHL Takeover Tour game between the Boston Fleet and Montreal Victoire on Sunday drew some big names in the audience, including WNBA and Seattle Storm legend Sue Bird and USWNT great Megan Rapinoe. The game saw a season-high fan attendance of 12,608 at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena.

The official account of PWHL posted a couple of clicks from the evening featuring Bird and Rapinoe on X. One of the images saw the two greats of their respective sport enjoying the game from the gallery, while the next one featured them holding PWHL jerseys of Boston and Montreal with their names on the back.

“Everyone watches women's sports. 🤝 Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe are in the building 🗣”, the post was captioned.

The Boston Fleet also shared a clip of the two stars on their X account when they were shown on the large LED screen at Climate Pledge Arena during the first period of the game.

“ICYMI: we had two Seattle 🐐’s in tha house!!!”, read the caption of the post.

Bird played 21 seasons in the WNBA, all with the Seattle Storm, and won four championships with the franchise. Meanwhile, Rapinoe played 203 times for the USWNT, scoring 63 goals.

The two confirmed they had been dating since late 2016 and announced their engagement in 2020.

NHL's Seattle Kraken assistant coach Jessica Campbell initiated the game with the ceremonial puckdrop on the night. Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord, who was present in the audience, also shared a post on his X account from the evening.

"Awesome experience seeing all the fan support and watching Coach Campbell drop the puck at the @thepwhlofficial game in Seattle today! Huge shoutout to the hometown @PWHL_Boston on getting the W over Montreal today!", he wrote.

JT Brown and Lexi LaFleur attend PWHL Takeover Tour game in Seattle

Former NHLer and now Kraken TV color analyst JT Brown was in attendance at Climate Pledge Arena on the night. Accompanying him was his wife and author of the hockey romance book ‘Shoot Your Shot’, Lexi LaFleur.

The official PWHL Instagram account made sure to welcome the couple with a special post.

“Welcome booktok queen Lexi LaFleur Brown and @seattlekraken TV Color Analyst JT Brown! 🙌”, read the caption.

LaFleur also posted about her experience at the game on her IG account.

Lexi wore a Montreal Victoire hoodie in support of the Canadian team. Earlier, she posted a collage of throwback photos on her Instagram stories from her days of playing junior hockey. She also expressed how excited she was to attend her ‘first PWHL game’.

Montreal took the lead early on the night, scoring twice in the first period. Laura Stacey got the first goal on a power play, and Abby Boreen added another to give Montreal a 2-0 lead.

Boston fought back in the second period as Hannah Bilka scored on a power play to make it 2-1. The Fleet kept pushing and tied the game in the third period when Susanna Tapani scored another power-play goal with just nine minutes left.

Neither team could score in overtime, so the game went to a shootout where Bilka and Tapani scored for Boston, and goalie Aerin Frankel made three big saves, including stopping Stacey’s shot to seal the win. Boston will play Minnesota next on Wednesday, while Montreal faces Toronto on the same night.
