Edmonton Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl proposed to his longtime sweetheart Celeste Desjardins last month. They got engaged just a fortnight before his on-ice partner, Connor McDavid and Lauren Kyle tied the knot in Ontario.
While the McDavids haven’t released the official photos from the wedding, Draisaitl and Desjardins have recently shared a detailed inside look from their engagement in Mallorca, Spain.
On Saturday, Celeste shared a series of pictures from the surprise engagement event that Leon had thrown for them. Some of their close friends and family were in attendance on the occasion including Draisaitl's parents, Peter and Sandra.
Celeste Desjardins also posted a carousel of pictures from the event on her Instagram. She captioned the post, “07.09.2024 🤍”, the date of their engagement. Two Naked Souls photography covered the photoshoot on their memorable occasion.
Leon Draisaitl and Celeste Desjardins have been dating for six years. They made their relationship public in June 2018.
The McDavids celebrate Leon Draisaitl and Celeste Desjardins’ engagement
Connor McDavid and Lauren Kyle exchanged vows in an exclusive wedding event in Ontario, Toronto, on July 27. Given the couple were busy preparing for their wedding, they had little time to celebrate the engagement of their friends Leon and Celeste.
Earlier last week, the two Oilers superstars and their partners went on a double date to finally celebrate the engagement. Lauren posted a couple of stories from their outing on her Instagram story.
“Celebrating these two finally,” Lauren Kyle wrote in the caption of one of the pictures.
When Celeste had first announced her engagement with Leon on social media, Lauren was one of the most excited to get to know the news. She had even reposted their pictures from the occasion and captioned,
"My favourite people are getting married!!! Ahhhh", Lauren wrote and added a crying emoji.
Connor McDavid said he had not met Leon Draisaitl in the build up to his own wedding or Leon's engagement. When asked if he had parted some valuable advice to his on-ice partner before he got down on one knee, McDavid mentioned that he had not seen Draisaitl since the engagement but was happy for his friend.
"I haven't seen him yet. Looking forward to seeing him. It'll be nice for him to get home, spend some time with his family. Obviously a big step in his life - happy for him." [H/T Oilers After Dark]
Fans are now waiting for an inside look into the McDavids’ wedding, which should come soon, going by Lauren Kyle’s latest instagram story.
