Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner and his wife, Chloe, are expecting their second child. Mrs. Skinner posted pictures of her baby bump on Instagram. The photos were taken during a professional family shoot which included Stuart, Chloe and their son Beau.

One of Chloe's photos shows her affectionately cradling her baby bump as Stuart and Beau smile. Another photo shows Beau hugging his mother with one hand on her belly. As the caption she posted on Instagram demonstrates, Chloe Skinner is clearly very excited about the latest addition to the family.

“Pinch me,” the caption read.

Stuart and Chloe married in June 2020 after reportedly meeting during Skinner’s stint with Lethbridge Hurricanes in the Western Hockey League (WHL). Beau was born in January 2023. Chloe shared the news about their second child with a post captioned:

“Big brother Beau.”

Chloe has managed to largely stay out of the spotlight by maintaining a modest social media presence. From the early days of her relationship with Stuart, she joined him on his travels with the Oilers during the season.

Stuart Skinner was a third-round, 78th overall, pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft for the Oilers. After playing in the WHL, he made his NHL debut in 2021 for the Oilers.

He became a starting goalie in 2023 after the departure of Mikko Koskinen, an injury to Mike Smith and the poor form of Jack Campbell. Stuart secured his first NHL shutout and earned a spot in the All-Star Game for the season.

Stuart Skinner’s second child set to join a large family

An Edmonton local, Stuart is the youngest of nine kids born to Sam and Sue Skinner, all of whom have names starting with the letter 'S.' The family has strong ties to both hockey and figure skating; his parents and his five older sisters and three older brothers were either hockey players or figure skaters.

Stuart’s father, Sam, said via Hockey Canada:

“It just seemed we were always on the ice," Sam said. "Even when it wasn’t a formal figure skating or hockey practice and it was winter, we were on a pond or outdoor rink somewhere."

Although he started as a forward, Stuart Skinner quickly fell in love with being a goalie.

“Every puck that hit him, he was going, ‘yes, yes,’” his father told Hockey Canada. “I could see even at that age it was a passion.”
