Former Vegas Golden Knights forward Phil Kessel and his wife, Sandra Kessel, recently enjoyed an elegant night out in Miami alongside close friends and family. The couple were spotted at the luxurious Komodo Miami restaurant, which is a favorite among celebrities.
On Friday, Sandra posted a series of pictures and clips on her Instagram stories from their evening. The ladies dined together at a high-end restaurant, celebrating what appears to be their friend Erin’s birthday.
Sandra also reposted a mirror selfie taken by her friend Lisa Marie, where she referred to her as “Sistaaaaaa Sista.” In the caption, Sandra added:
“Besties reunite florida tour confirmed”
In another story, she reposted a clip of the girls having a fun time while dining together and enjoying a "rap session over caviar."
Phil Kessel posted a clip on his Instagram stories from their evening at the Komodo Miami restaurant. He shared an exotic sushi platter shaped like a dragon and tagged restaurateur David Grutman and businessman Mike Kimel. Sandra reposted that on her story as well.
Sandra Kessel also shared an adorable moment of her daughter, Kapri, at the dinner table. Kapri was trying to apply her mother’s lipgloss while the elders were busy having dinner.
“Touch up time,” Sandra Kessel hilariously wrote.
Phil Kessel has signed for World Poker Tour
After going unsigned for the 2023-24 season, Phil Kessel hasn't officially retired but has shifted focus to a surprising passion, poker. Announcing his partnership with the World Poker Tour, Kessel shared his excitement on Instagram, where he invited fans to follow his poker journey and even join him in WPT events.
“Excited to join WPT GLOBAL! Poker & hockey have always been a passion of mine. I look forward to playing poker with everyone on [WPT Global] and at WPT events. Good luck trying to stack me. Follow @wptglobal to see where you can play with me," Kessel wrote.
This career change comes as Kessel waits for an opportunity to return to hockey, though no teams have signed him yet. Despite not playing since the 2022-23 season with the Vegas Golden Knights, Kessel has expressed his desire to continue in the NHL.
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Kessel has actively reached out to teams. However, no club has taken the step to sign him. There were also rumors about Kessel potentially being involved in a three-on-three hockey league, but the three-time Stanley Cup champion has not confirmed anything yet.
