Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander's younger sister Ella indulged in a multi-course dinner at the upscale Japanese restaurant Nobu in downtown Toronto to wrap up 2024. Through a series of Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Ella treated her followers to a glimpse of the sumptuous feast.
Ella showcased photos of an array of tantalizing seafood and meticulously crafted Japanese-inspired dishes, including one of the famous Japanese dishes, makizushi.
Additional photos highlighted the variety of Japanese-inspired courses that followed.
One particularly striking image captured Ella herself, beaming with delight as she posed for a selfie, captioning the moment:
"Happy new years 2025."
Ella also shared a video from the spectator stands at Scotiabank Arena, where the Maple Leafs secured a 3-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday. Her brother, William Nylander, played a pivotal role in the game, recording two assists.
Alex and William Nylander's first NHL game
On Nov. 24, 2024, brothers William and Alex Nylander made NHL history by playing in their first game together as members of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The matchup against the Utah Hockey Club at Scotiabank Arena marked the first time the Nylander brothers suited together.
Alex had just been called up from the AHL's Toronto Marlies after Matthew Knies was placed on injured reserve. Both Nylanders commented after the game.
"I mean, just the entire day was special and seeing him out there," William Nylander said via Sportsnet. "The first period was kind of just like crazy. It felt pretty crazy and then settled in and it felt more normal. So, yeah, it was very special. And, of course, we got the win, which was nice."
"An amazing feeling," Alex said. "A really special feeling to be here on this team with my brother here. It's something I'll remember forever."
Though the brothers have played with and against each other growing up, this first NHL game together was an unforgettable occasion they will always cherish.
