“In utter bliss experiencing this new chapter with our baby girl”: Tyler Seguin and wife Kate announce birth of first child Wren Katherine Seguin

Dallas Stars alternate captain Tyler Seguin and his wife Kate welcomed their first child together in January. On Wednesday, the couple announced the birth of their baby girl, Wren Katherine Seguin.

Kate Seguin penned an emotional message on Instagram with a carousel of photos of the couple posing with their newborn. The pictures showed the family returning home from the hospital with Wren.

“Our family has grown by 10 little fingers and toes 👼🏼 Wren Katherine Seguin was born at 7 lb 1 oz on January 16th at 7:41 am. @tseguin92 and I are in utter bliss experiencing this new chapter with our baby girl,” she wrote.

Kate also quoted a verse from the Bible, 1 Samuel 1:27.

“For this child, I prayed, and the Lord has granted the desires of my heart. 1 Samuel 1:27.”

Kate followed up the post with another carousel of pictures after they got back home. She shared Wren’s meeting episode with the couple’s three dogs, Gerry, Cash and Marshall.

“Seguin family, party of six! Gerry, Cash, and Marshall are so excited about their baby sister! 👶🏼🐾🎀”, she wrote in the caption.

The couple had announced they were expecting their first child in July 2024.

Tyler Seguin and family had a "memorable" Christmas

Earlier last month, Tyler Seguin had shared a holiday photo with his wife Kate on his Instagram stories. The image showed Tyler, who's recovering from a hip surgery, using crutches while dressed in white pants and a black sweater.

Kate wore a light-colored dress and coat, and cradled her baby bump as they posed on a street with glowing string lights. Tyler Seguin wrote in the caption:

“Memorable Christmas card this year!! ❤️ @kate_seguin.”

The photo comes during Seguin’s recovery from surgery performed on December 5 to address a femoral acetabular impingement and a hip labrum tear. The procedure was originally conducted by Dr. Bryan T. Kelly in New York and is expected to sideline Seguin for 4-6 months.

Kate Seguin had celebrated her Christmas-themed baby shower on Dec. 15 in Dallas. Some of her close friends were in attendance at the cozy ceremony with holiday decorations and a sign reading, “Baby Seguin is coming to town!”

Tyler Seguin had proposed to Kate in Greece in 2022, and they married in July 2023 in the Bahamas.
