Connor McDavid is coming off a fantastic season for the Edmonton Oilers. Not only did he excel during the playoffs, guiding them to within a goal of a possible Stanley Cup title (and winning Conn Smythe in the process), but he also scored an impressive 132 points.

The natural expectation for generational players like McDavid is continuous growth, which prompts the question: How many points will McDavid score in 2024?

It's worth noting that his 132 points last year were a slight drop from his total of 153 the year before. However, with mounting concerns after suffering an abdominal injury, many NHL fans aren't sure if McDavid is in for a great season again.

"0 points he gets injured first week out for the year maybe career," a user commented.
"He's overdue for an injury. I'll say 32 points and a badly torn ACL/MCL," one fan said.
"All points will lead to failure regardless. If he wants his name etched on the Stanley Cup, he must leave the Coilers as soon as possible. Even Coilers Nation knows this." Another user said.

Reflecting on his track record, many fans displayed confidence in his ability:

"If he’s healthy all season, 120. I don’t think he cares about the Art Ross or the Rocket. He cares about getting back to the Final. The regular season is just a 6 month dress rehearsal," another added.
"I’ll be super optimistic and say 162 knowing full well I’ll be wrong and he’ll get 165," one fan said.
"As many as he wants," another user commented.

Connor McDavid named top hockey center

Connor McDavid was named the NHL's top center during the offseason. The NHL Network ranked the 20 best at that position, and the Edmonton Oilers star was the first name on the list.

Although he did not lead the league in points last year, his performance carried the Oilers throughout the playoffs.

McDavid had a historic run, winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as Stanley Cup Final MVP, despite his team losing and him not registering a goal or assist in the series finale, as he was shut down entirely.
