Leon Draisaitl will skate up for tonight's game and will look to beat the best team in the 2022-23 NHL season alongside captain Connor McDavid.

The Oilers are coming off an excrutiating loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets. McDavid scored four points in that game, from two goals and two assists, but it was not enough for the Oilers. They were down 4-0 but scored four goals in eight minutes to tie the game at 4-4.

Jack Roslovic scored two goals in the third period for the Blue Jackets and Zach Hyman got one back for the Oilers, but they could not come back from a two-goal deficit.

The Edmonton Oilers are currently third in the Pacific Division with a 32-20-8 record. They are in a tight race for the top seed in the table with four teams within six points of each other.

The Vegas Golden Knights are currently leading with 76 points. The Oilers have had a rough stretch of games, having won only four of their last ten, conceding a minimum of five goals in almost all of them.

This is the first of two meetings between the two teams this season. Leon Draisaitl has scored seven goals and five assists over the last 10 games. Connor McDavid is already in unstoppable form and will make a run towards yet another scoring record. David Pastrnak, the Bruins' leader in all scoring catergories, will also be looking to make a great impact.

Leon Draisaitl's 2022-23 NHL season

Leon Draisaitl is on pace to have a career-season with the Edmonton Oilers. In 58 games, he has 88 points from 36 goals and 52 assists. He is projected to have 122 points by the end of the regular season, making it a new career record and his fourth season with 100+ points.

The 27-year-old German seems to love scoring against the Nashville Predators this season. He has had a season-high five points in both games that the Oilers have played against the Predators.

In their first game against the Predators in early November, Draisaitl scored five points from one goal and four assists in a 7-4 victory. Later in December, he had five points again in the game against Nashville, where he scored two goals and had three assists. The Oilers won that game 6-3.

Draisaitl was very close to being the Nashville-killer for the Oilers, but the Predators had the last laugh in their third meeting where they won 4-3 in OT.
