The Toronto Maple Leafs lost 3-0 to the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday at Scotiabank Arena. Vancouver’s Kevin Lankinen made 20 saves for his fourth shutout of the season and seventh in his NHL career.

The Canucks overcame travel delays from snowy Raleigh, North Carolina, arriving in Toronto just hours before the game. Despite this, they rebounded strongly after a 2-0 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes the previous night.

After the loss, the Toronto Maple Leafs’ official X account posted the final score, prompting reactions from frustrated fans.

"As a lifelong Leafs fan, I think it’s time we admit Vancouver runs Canada." One fan wrote.
"I’ve had it being a Leafs fan. I’m all my years as a lifelong fan and season ticket member since 1967, I’ve never seen a team so pathetic and lazy. I’m no longer renewing my season tickets nor watching on tv ever again. I’m off to Vancouver where they know how to run a dynasty" Another fan expressed disappointment.
"This week: Canes made Leafs look bad Canes made Canucks look bad Canucks mad Leafs look bad This has been my fear. We beat up on the low teams and pile up points. We hit mid season and don’t know how to beat the top or middle teams. This is officially a slump." a fan said.

Here are some more reactions from fans on X:

"Simply CANNOT take this team seriously. A Dubas led team would be more diverse and wouldn't let this happen!" a fan mentioned.
"Pathetic effort should be ashamed, mailed it in in a sleepy effort against a team on a b2b long time Leaf fan but that was embarrassing, I’m ashamed for them, they better vastly improve for the next game or it b 3 losses in a row 🙄😤" a fan said.
"This team is genuinely not good. They get outplayed every night by every team under the sun, even when they win... The “great wins” stopped a while ago. They don’t beat good teams anymore either" another fan said.

Toronto Maple Leafs' 3-0 shutout win over Vancouver Canucks

Brock Boeser scored 31 seconds into the game, deflecting Tyler Myers’ point shot into the net. Quinn Hughes made it 2-0 late in the second period. His shot accidentally deflected off Toronto Maple Leafs’s Simon Benoit into the net.

Kiefer Sherwood added the third goal early in the third period. He scored off a no-look pass from Hughes. Kevin Lankinen stopped 20 shots, earning his fourth shutout of the season and seventh in his NHL career. The Toronto Maple Leafs will next play against the Dallas Stars.
