"They are hurting on d, probably costs Trouba, Othmann and a 1st, but I don't want to play against an angry, motivated Trouba 4 + times a year," one fan said.

Take a look at some more reactions from NHL fans on X.

"Necas is one of the most underrated talents in the NHL. That said, I can’t see a circumstance where the Canes trade him within the division without the other team massively overpaying for him," a fan said.

"Yes, but not overpay. They have to clear cap space and Kakko wouldn't be enough so idk how they can do it reasonably. Moving Trouba would but there's obvious difficulties there," one fan said.
"Yes but it would cost too much," another fan said.

Martin Necas likely to stay with Carolina Hurricanes as arbitration approaches

After a summer of trade rumors, Martin Necas is likely to stay with the Carolina Hurricanes. The need to finalize Necas' deal is urgent with his arbitration hearing on August 4.

On July 19, 2024, GM Eric Tulsky acknowledged that trades are still an option but pointed out the priority of signing Martin Necas and Seth Jarvis, the remaining restricted free agents.

"It is a lot easier to make trades before July 1 when teams have flexibility to go pivot and sign other players to replace whatever they gave up than it is after July 1 when their roster is mostly built," Tulsky said (via NHL.com on July 19, 2024).

Despite speculation about Martin Necas seeking a new opportunity, Tulsky believes the roster is mostly finalized and aims to complete the RFA signings soon.
