Former NHL player J.T. Brown’s wife, Lexi LaFleur Brown, gracefully slammed the person who created a fake TikTok account in her name. The author and influencer posted a tongue-in-cheek response on her Instagram Story and shared a screenshot of the account’s TikTok page set up in her name. The caption read:
“My username doesn’t have an “S” on the end,” Lexi posted, calling out the account with the handle @lexilafleurbrowns.
She went on to sarcastically thank the person who made the account and added a cheeky comeback at the end.
“Fake TikTok pretending to be me. Oh well, thanks for the book promo lol! This is why I have so many catfish stories. Reminder, unless you’re JT Brown we’re not in a relationship,” her caption read.
Lexi and J.T. Brown met via Twitter (now X) in 2013. They were married in 2015 and have two kids, Lily and Booker. In March 2024, Lexi signed a two-book deal with Canary Street Press. Her first book, Shoot Your Shot, will hit the bookshelves on Mar. 11, 2025.
Lexi said her relationship with Brown was the inspiration for the book. It is set in Seattle, where the couple reside.
"A hockey romance written by a former NHL hockey wife. Inspired by the great lengths some players go to create a little 'Puck Luck' for themselves," Lexi said.
J.T. Brown played for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Anaheim Ducks and Minnesota Wild. After retirement, he became a commentator and analyst, joining Root Sports Northwest for the Seattle Kraken. He is also an avid gamer and used to stream regularly on Twitch.
Lexi shares candid message about her book based on her relationship with J.T. Brown
On Dec. 31, in a short throwback Instagram video, Lexi LaFleur Brown shared the exact moment she got the news that her book was going to be published. Lexi, who was down with a stomach bug when she got the news, tried to share the emotional roller-coaster she was on. The caption read:
"It was between those moments of despair that I got some of the best news of my life. Canary Street Press wanted to buy and publish my book.”
“My rockstar agent, Deidre Knight secured me an unbelievable two-book book deal. My dream would become a reality. It was an unforgettable day and a reminder that the universe must always balance itself.”
Lexi, who grew up in a family of hockey fans, advocates for more inclusivity in the sport.
