Jakob Chychrun bids farewell to the Arizona Coyotes in an emotional Twitter post

Jakob Chychrun is an American-born Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman for the National Hockey League's Ottawa Senators. The Arizona Coyotes selected him 16th overall in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

The Arizona Coyotes traded Jakob Chychrun to the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023. In the 2023 NHL Draft, Arizona received a conditional first-round pick.

Chychrun has been playing for the Arizona Coyotes for the last seven years. This was the reason why this change was expected to be a little emotional. Chychrun took to Twitter and made an emotional tweet thanking everyone for their incredible journey, friendship, and love.

Chychrun started his message by mentioning the number of years he was with the Arizona Coyotes. He then mentioned how thankful he felt since he got to represent the team on and off the ice. The time spent doing so was quite memorable for him.

Chychrun Said:

"I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the incredible seven years I spent with the Arizona Coyotes. It has been a privilege to represent the team on and off the ice, and I will always cherish the great memories from my time in AZ."

Jakob Chychrun thanked his management, coaches, and trainers for all the love and support and for the guidance that he received while representing the team.

"I want to say thank you to management and all of my coaches and trainers for believing in me and providing me with the support and guidance that shaped me into the player and the person I am today. I am very grateful for all that you have done for me."

He went on to mention his teammates and thanked all of them. He mentioned that all the time he spent while playing for the Coyotes was memorable because of them. He proceeded on and said how he feels honored to be on their side and how happy he feels after making them his lifelong friends.

"To my team mates... some of the best memories of my life were with you guys. It was an honor to play with each and every one of you and happy to have made lifelong friends."

Jakob Chychrun thanked all the fans for the support that they provided through thick and thin. He said that everything was possible because of their love and support and how he had an incredible experience because of that. He also mentioned how the Coyotes will always have a special place in his heart.

"FInally, I want to extend a special thank you to the fanbase. Your passion for the Coyotes made playing in front of you an incredible experience and I am very fortunate to have been a part of your community. Arizona will always occupy a special place in my heart. "

Jakob Chychrun finished it off by saying his last line with an emotional touch to it.

"Thank you once again to everyone who made my time with the Coyotes an amazing ride."

Jakob Chychrun traded to the Ottawa Senators

The Arizona Coyotes and the Ottawa Senators have reached an agreement with Jakob Chychrun, a 24-year-old star defenseman. The deal includes a conditional first-round pick in 2023, a conditional second-round pick in 2024, and a conditional third-round pick in 2026.

If the Senators do not make the playoffs and do not pick in the top five of the upcoming draft, the pick becomes an unprotected 2024 first-round pick.

He has appeared in 36 games this season, averaging over 23 minutes per game. Despite being a defensive player, Chychrun has 28 goals and ranks sixth on the team in scoring.

Chychrun is expected to earn around $4 million over the next two seasons, making the trade beneficial to both the player and the team.
