“John is happy”: Johnny Gaudreau’s sister Katie pens emotional message for mom and dad on Christmas day

Johnny Gaudreau's sister, Katie, wrote an emotional message to their parents Guy and Jane on Christmas Day. Katie posted a photo of Guy and Jane holding Johnny's young daughter Noa and son Johnny as they slept. She captioned the sweet photo:

"John is happy, mom and dad stopped to give babies and Mer some lovin. The best mom-mom & pop-pop."

In another IG story, Katie posted a nostalgic photo from 10 years ago, showing herself with her mom Jane, Johnny, and their brother Matthew. It was a throwback to happier, simpler times before Johnny became an NHL star.

Johnny Gaudreau’s sister Katie thanks Calgary and Flames

Last week, Katie Gaudreau posted a heartfelt message on Instagram thanking the city of Calgary and the Calgary Flames organization.

In her post, Katie expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support shown to her family in Calgary during the recent memorial service for her parents. She wrote,

"Since late September I’ve just been waiting for this weekend. The weekend where the best city in the world would hold Papa Hockey & Momma G. I will thank you forever and ever for everything you have done for our family. The best city in the world.”

Katie went on to thank various members of the Flames family - the fans, owners, coaches, management, players, the Flames Foundation, and their families. She said they gave her family a week filled with more love than they could have imagined.

Katie was grateful that her nephew Noah and brother Johnny could experience the city where Johnny Gaudreau became a superstar.

Katie confessed she didn’t have enough words to fully express how much she, Johnny, and their family love Calgary and the Flames organization. She said she was upset leaving Calgary because she wasn’t ready to leave the blanket of love and support they felt all week.

“Please know from the bottom of our hearts we have and always will love the C of Red,” she added.

In closing, Katie hoped the “Johnny Hockey” chant would live on forever in Calgary and that perhaps her nephew Baby Johnny might one day don the Flames jersey himself.
