Late Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau's sister Katie shared a photo of her dad, Guy Gaudreau, and her two-year-old niece, Noa, on Instagram. Noa wore a lavender and white dress. She gave her "pop-pop" a playful makeup session.
Guy leaned forward as Noa carefully used her colorful toy makeup kit. The caption humorously quotes Noa saying:
“Let me do your makeup, Pop-pop,” and, "Pop-pop & Noa Harper"
Katie expressed her love.
“So proud of these two & love you both the most. The best girl pop-pop,” she wrote.
On Aug. 29, Johnny Gaudreau, 31, and his brother Matthew, 29, died in a biking accident in New Jersey. They were heading home for Katie's wedding when a suspected drunk driver struck them. The driver, Sean M. Higgins, was charged with two counts of death by auto, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
Johnny Gaudreau's sister Katie shared throwback pictures of her brothers
Katie Gaudreau has frequently reminisced about her late brothers, Johnny and Matthew, after their tragic deaths. Earlier in January, she shared a throwback photo of her siblings from 14 years ago on Instagram. The picture showed Johnny, Matthew, Katie, and their sister Kristen sitting together, with Johnny playfully making donkey ears behind Katie.
Katie also shared a special birthday message for her fiancé, Devin Joyce. Their wedding had to be postponed because of the tragedy. In her post, Katie thanked Joyce for his support during tough times.
“Happy Birthday to the love of my life. I thought I loved you the most I possibly could 10 years ago but that could never compare to the love I have for you today. Thank you for everything you do for our family. You constantly put my needs before your own and carry me through all the struggles and happiness,” Katie wrote in her caption.
She also shared that she engraved her brothers' initials, "J&M," on her wedding band to honor them. Katie’s posts show how she keeps her brother Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau’s memory alive while finding strength in her family.
