Late NHL player Johnny Gaudreau's sister Katie posted another nostalgic picture of her family on Wednesday. Katie has shared throwback photos of her brothers, their family and friends on her social media accounts in honor of their memory.
The post appears to be from her older sister Kristen's wedding. In the photo titled "10 years ago," Katie, Kristen, Matthew and a friend are smiling and posing for a quick photo. The caption reads:
“#tbt si much fun!@mattygaudreau11, @m_korbitz, @kgaudreau3 #venellowedding #missthem.”
Over the past few months, the brothers' family and friends have honored their memories and legacy by sharing pictures and messages on social media.
The hockey franchises Johnny and Matthew played for, the NHL and USHL, also organized multiple events and awards in their memory over the past few months.
On Dec. 21, the Philadelphia Flyers held a puck drop ceremony to honor the brothers before they played against Johnny’s team, the Columbia Blue Jackets. The Flyers’ players wore Johnny and Matthew’s high school hockey jerseys for the warmup.
On Saturday, the Dubuque Fighting Saints, who Johnny played for in 2010-11, retired his jersey number at a ceremony where Johnny’s parents, Guy and Jane, Kristen and Katie and Johnny’s wife, Meredith, were present. USHL president Glenn Hefferan also announced The Gaudreau Award to honor their legacy at the event.

Matthew and his wife Madeline were expecting their first child when he was tragically killed. Madeline announced the birth of Tripp, Matthew’s son, on Dec. 29. On Wednesday, she posted a picture on Instagram of her cradling her infant son. Madeline is also wearing bracelets spelling out her late husband’s and son’s names.
“Our Boy,” reads the post’s caption.
On Sunday, Madeline shared a heartfelt letter on Instagram. In the post, she spoke about how losing the brothers affected her and the Gaudreau family.
