Meredith Gaudreau, wife of the late Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau, shared a heartfelt post on Instagram. The post marked what would have been their third wedding anniversary.
Meredith shared some pictures on Instagram from their wedding and subsequent trips. Johnny was seen in the pictures carrying a smile alongside his wife, Meredith.
"I never post this much but John deserves it. 3 years ago today I became yours forever," Meredith wrote. "One of the best days of my life, including the night we got engaged and the days we brought our babies into the world.
"The day I met you I remember saying to myself, omg I’m going to marry him. And every day after that kept getting better and better. I love you forever John and I am so proud to be your wife."
The tragedy has been unfortunate for the ideal couple.
Johnny and his brother, Matthew, tragically passed away on August 29 in a biking accident. The accident happened in their hometown of Salem County, New Jersey. The brothers were there to be groomsmen at their sister's wedding.
