Sportscaster Erin Andrews is married to former NHL player Jarret Stoll and the couple share an adorable son. After being married for seven years, Erin opened up about struggling with patience in her marriage, often feeling quick to react negatively or detach emotionally.
In a clip from an episode of the "Calm Down Podcast with Erin and Charissa" posted on Instagram on Saturday, Erin shared a moment of self-reflection from a wedding they attended. During the vows at the wedding, the officiant encouraged everyone to think about what they could do each day to make their spouse's life better:
“I was kind of thinking about that. My patience has really never been there, but now it is invisible. And I catch myself being so fast to like, either jump on his a** or jump on anything. Be like, I'm done. I've checked out. I don't care,” she said. (18:58)
Erin shared how she recognized her tendency to be impatient. Despite Jarret Stoll's supportive gestures, Erin admitted that she didn't always respond in a way that made his life easier.
“So today he called me and to check in and like, I've been running around since we got home. Howkie is barking at a dog. He just had surgery. I'm worried about his stitches. And I'm like, I can't do this anymore. And he's like, I love you. I'll be home in 30. And I'm like, okay, well that didn't help make my spouse's life better.”
Erin acknowledged that she needs to work on being more patient, especially with the demands of their busy lives. She joked that she might not seem like the most fun person to be married to at the moment.
Charissa Thompson, her co-host, also related to Erin's struggles agreeing that they both tend to prioritize work over their relationships. She mentioned the importance of making their marriages a priority, just as they do with their careers.
Jarret Stoll and his dog can be the biggest ‘wusses’ per Erin Andrews
While Jarret Stoll was known as one of the toughest players on his team during his time in the NHL, Erin Andrews once shared what makes the two-time Stanley Cup champion flinch at home.
She mentioned how both Jarret and their dog Howie get very scared whenever there is any eerie noise in their house.
“He can like, beat the sh*t out of guys when he was on the ice and be so tough and hit the crap out of people. But, if there’s one noise in our house, it’s just like him and Howie are the biggest freaking wusses.” [H/T SI.com]
“It’s so bad,” said Andrews. “Oh God, it’s so bad.”
Jarret Stoll played 13 years in the NHL with four different teams. He spent seven of those years with the Los Angeles Kings, with whom he won two Cups.
Stoll and Erin Andrews originally started dating in 2012. They were engaged in 2016 and eventually got married in 2017. They have a one-year-old son born in July 2023.
