Minnesota Governor Tim Walz attended the PWHL game between the Minnesota Frost and Montreal Victoire on Saturday. The Victoire won 3-2, with Mariah Keopple and Alexandra Labelle scoring their first goals of the season.
Walz, who lost in the Nov. 5 US elections, shared a photo on X. He attended the game with his family, showing support for Minnesota’s PWHL team despite the Frost’s close loss.
"Minnesota Frost vs. the Montreal Victoire. Tough loss but a great game!” Walz tweeted.

Minnesota Frost's close loss to the Montreal Victoire in the PWHL game
The Minnesota Frost lost 3-2 to the Montreal Victoire, their first regulation defeat of the PWHL season. The Frost scored first when Britta Curl-Salemme netted her third goal of the season. Claire Thompson and Taylor Heise assisted.
Montreal tied it late in the first period with Mariah Keopple scoring her first goal off Claire Dalton’s pass. Minutes later, Alexandra Labelle scored her first goal on a rebound, putting Montreal ahead 2-1.
In the second period, Brooke McQuigge scored her first goal at 3:17, tying the game for Minnesota. Marie-Philip Poulin gave Montreal the lead again with a 2-on-1 goal assisted by Laura Stacey and Jennifer Gardiner.
Ann-Renee Desbiens made 22 saves for Montreal, while Maddie Rooney stopped 22 shots for Minnesota. Neither PWHL team scored on the power play, with Minnesota going 0-for-1 and Montreal 0-for-3.
