The Ohio State University Dance Team emerged as national champions in the D1A Spirit Program Gameday in the UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships 2025.

Katie's brothers, Johnny and Matthew, were killed in a road accident on Aug. 29 in Salem, New Jersey. The hockey community rallied to support the Gaudreau family in the months following their demise. Tributes have poured in for the brothers from hockey franchises, local Ohio sports teams and their fellow athletes.

The Dubuque Fighting Saints, who Johnny played for in 2010-11, on Jan. 11 retired his jersey number at a ceremony where Johnny’s parents, Guy and Jane, Kristen and Katie and Johnny’s wife, Meredith, were present. USHL president Glenn Hefferan also announced The Gaudreau Award to honor Johnny and Matthew’s legacy at the event.

The members of the Columbus Fury, an Ohio women’s volleyball team playing in the Pro Volleyball Federation team, wore special T-shirts to honor the Gaudreau brothers as they arrived for their first game of 2025 on Jan. 11.

“This one is for Johnny Hockey @BlueJacketsNHL,” Columbus Fury posted on X.
"Love this city so much. Thank you @ColumbusFury," Johnny’s wife Meredith replied to the post.

On Dec. 21, the Philadelphia Flyers held a puck drop ceremony to honor the brothers before they played against Johnny's team, the Columbia Blue Jackets.

On Thursday, she shared a post of Johnny’s two-year-old daughter, Noa, playing with her grandfather, Guy. In the photos, Noa appears to be trying to put makeup on Guy.

“So proud of these two & love you both the most. The best girl pop-pop,” Katie wrote.

On Friday, Johnny and Matthew's mother, Jane, shared a montage of throwback photos featuring her sons.
