Joey Daccord and Jordan Eberle helped secure a win for Kraken
The Seattle Kraken beat the Calgary Flames 2-1 in overtime, giving Calgary their first loss of the season. Jordan Eberle scored the winning goal 48 seconds into overtime, after a pass from Brandon Montour. Eberle called it a simple, tight game, similar to a playoff matchup.
Joey Daccord made 21 saves for Seattle. Despite a mistake that led to Calgary's only goal, Daccord recovered and helped secure the win. Chandler Stephenson tied the game with a 5-on-3 power-play goal in the second period, his first for the Kraken.
Seattle coach Dan Bylsma praised his team's determination to stick to their game plan.
“It’s a bit of a slog of a game and you have to be determined to stay with it and not give them anything,” Bylsma said. “Continue to be determined to get back the other way. That’s what this game presented, and that’s what Calgary presents.”
Seattle stayed focused and earned their third straight win, while Calgary suffered their first defeat.
