The Toronto Maple Leafs will face the Columbus Blue Jackets on the road for the second half of a back-to-back on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
Ahead of the game, here is the projected Maple Leafs lineup.Predicted Maple Leafs lineup
Forwards
- Matthew Knies - Auston Matthews - Mitch Marner
- Bobby McMann - Max Domi - William Nylander
- Max Pacioretty - John Tavares - Nick Robertson
- Steven Lorentz - David Kampf - Pontus Holmberg
Toronto has either been scratching Pacioretty or Ryan Reaves, but after Pacioretty scored against Tampa Bay he should be in the lineup for the second straight game.
Defensemen
- Morgan Rielly - Chris Tanev
- Oliver Ekman-Larsson - Jake McCabe
- Simon Benoit - Conor Timmins
Timothy Liljegren continues to be a healthy scratch as Toronto will likely trade the former first-round pick soon.
Goalies
- Joseph Woll
- Anthony Stolarz
Woll is expected to make his season debut on Tuesday after recovering from an injury. He looks to solidify the tandem with Anthony Stolarz who has been excellent this season.
“Just confidence and having that routine day in and day out," Stolarz said, via NHL.com. "(I'm) working with (goalie coach) Curtis Sanford on a lot of things on our practice days, getting my rest, taking care of my body, and I’m just trying to make sure I make the most of this opportunity."
Maple Leafs vs Blue Jackets: Preview
Toronto is a -230 favorite, while Columbus is a +190 underdog, with the over/under set at 6.5 goals.
The Maple Leafs are playing the second half of a back-to-back, but this is still a good spot for Toronto to get its second win in as many days.
The Blue Jackets defense and goaltending have been an issue this season, as this potent Maple Leafs offense should be able to score plenty.
Joseph Woll has also been solid when he plays, and despite him not playing for a couple of weeks due to the injury, he still should be able to limit the Blue Jackets offense and lead Toronto to a big win here.
Prediction: Maple Leafs 5, Blue Jackets 2.
