Mika Zibanejad and his wife, Irma Helin, announced their pregnancy via Instagram on Monday evening. Irma posted a photo of the ultrasound on her Instagram with adorable little furry shoes.
She also confirmed the sex of the baby in the caption, which read:
"Our family is growing. Can't wait to meet our daughter."
According to FirstSportz, the couple had been dating for nearly 11 years before Mika Zibanejad proposed to his long-time girlfriend in August 2020.
The couple has only posted a handful of pictures on social media and decided to maintain private lives. However, they do share photos of their holidays, and Irma posts content about her broadcasting profession.

Mika and Irma were reportedly dating even before the Ottawa Senators drafted Mika in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The two tied the knot almost a year after their engagement in a private ceremony in Lidingö, Sweden.
According to earththenecklace.com, Irma Helin studied at Vittra Södermalm, a primary school in her native city. She was an avid soccer player from a young age and intended to pursue a career in the sport.
She went on to play for the Piteå IF football club in the Swedish women's league, Damallsvenskan. She was a midfielder for Djurgårdens IF Fotboll in the same league.
Irma won her first national women's football team cap in 2016. She led the team to a 7-0 win over Iran that year.
Irma attended an award show in 2016 where she met Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the greatest Swedish soccer player. Her translated caption reads:

Irma is currently working with the Discovery Channel, covering Swedish league soccer.
