The NHL has many historic moments that fans remember. From Bobby Orr’s "flying goal" in the 1970 Stanley Cup Finals to Wayne Gretzky’s 50 goals in 39 games during the 1981-82 season, these games are still remembered.
On Tuesday, BarDown asked NHL fans on X (formerly Twitter) a simple question:
"If you could go back in time to watch one hockey game live, which would you choose?"
Excited fans shared their unique picks for the hypothetical question.
One fan chose a more recent game: the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 2023 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6. This game was special for Leafs fans because it marked their first playoff series win since 2004.
"I would go back to 2023 where the Leafs won game 6 of the first round against Tampa Bay in Tampa in overtime," the fan tweeted.
"Miracle on Ice. No questions asked," another fan tweeted.
"Ducks Devils this year in Anaheim, 4-3 game with a Jack Hughes Penalty shot stuffed with 1 second left in reg," a fan tweeted.
Here are some more reactions from NHL fans on X:
"Miracle On Ice. My friends went to Lake Placid for the Olympics but I had just started a new job and couldn't go," a fan tweeted.
"Fight night at the joe. Or the 98 cup finals winning game in washington when Steve gave vladdy the cup. My dad was at both and the stories are incredible," one fan tweeted.
"2010 Olympic gold medal game. To be in Vancouver when Sid scores the golden goal would have been off the charts," another fan tweeted.
