The Scottsdale Police Department released surveillance video on Tuesday showing former NHL player Paul Bissonnette engaging in a fight with multiple attackers at a Houston restaurant on Nov. 24. The video shows Bissonnette being kicked and punched by a group of men, resulting in his hospitalization.
The fight reportedly started around 7:30 pm when Bissonnette intervened after witnessing the group of men harassing restaurant staff. In the first video, the men can be seen surrounding a manager as Bissonnette steps in.
The second video shows the altercation spill outside into the parking lot, where Bissonnette knocks one man out before being chased by several others. He is then surrounded and subjected to repeated punches and kicks from multiple angles while on the ground, before finally breaking free and escaping.
Bissonnette later explained on a podcast that six men had come to the restaurant and berated employees. When he came to the defense of the workers, these men turned on him.
The former NHL enforcer identified William Carroll as the man he knocked unconscious right before the group attack began near a CVS dumpster. Bissonnette stated he was held down by Sean Daley, who faces the most serious charges while being kicked in the head and jaw by three assailants.
Bissonnette suffered multiple injuries from the beating but claimed he didn't regret stepping in. The brawl resulted in assault charges against six men, now infamously referred to by Bissonnette as the "Scottsdale Six."

“The minute that left my mouth, the guy beside him starts throwing punches. And next thing you know there’s about four guys swinging at me.”
