The Nashville Predators are fifth in the Central Division with 86 points, fighting for a place in the playoffs. But the problem for the Predators is an ever-increasing injury list (Roman Josi, Filip Forsberg, etc.) in a crucial phase of the season. They would like all the players to return to health so that they can seal a place in the Stanley Cup playoffs. These are some of the updates:
Roman Josi and Matt Duchene are going through day-to-day monitoring, according to the Nashville Predators
Roman Josi is presently undergoing upper-body pain and is being monitored daily. He has participated in 67 games, skating for 25 minutes each game. In addition to playing defense, he has assisted on 41 other goals and scored 18 goals himself. He incurred an injury against the Winnipeg Jets on the 18th of March. He left the game after the first period.
Josi skipped his 10th game in a row against the Golden Knights, but he appears to be getting closer to a comeback. He'll likely remain day-to-day until he is given the all-clear to return as long as the Predators' playoff chances are still alive.
Matt Duchene is also being considered day-to-day after injuring his hand against Toronto on the 26th of March. He has scored 22 goals and 56 points in 71 games this season.
Juuso Parssinen is expected to be out till the 10th of April
Juuso Parssinen, who has an infection in his upper body, hasn't resumed skating, according to GM David Poile. Parssinen has been out since late February and doesn't appear any closer to returning to the ice. Sadly, the club never provided a more specific rehabilitation timeline. Even after receiving the all-clear, the young player is far from guaranteed a spot in the Nashville Predators lineup.
Filip Forsberg's return timeline has also been stretched to the 10th of April
Filip Forsberg has not played for the Nashville Predators since he sustained a hit from Philadelphia's Rasmus Ristolainen late in the first period on the 11th of February. He was expected to return against the Carolina Panthers and many said that his comeback was imminent on the 23rd of March. He is now expected to be fully available from the 10th of April onwards. Whether it happens or not depends on what the management thinks. Forsberg is tied for third in the teams' goal-scoring list with 19 goals and 23 assists.
