During Sunday's matchup between the Ottawa Senators and the Colorado Avalanche, fans witnessed a hilarious goalie swap situation.

It all started with Sens netminder Anton Forsberg, who had a skate-blade issue and had to leave the ice. Linus Ullmark came in for just 17 seconds and made a solid save.

Then, Forsberg returned for a brief 1 minute and 28 seconds before needing to leave again, sending Ullmark back in. In total, the Ottawa Senators swapped their goalies four times in one shift due to Forsberg's skate-blade issue.

It was a wild and funny series of swaps that had NHL fans laughing as they shared their reactions on X/Twitter. One tweeted:

"Never let them know your next move."

Another chimed in:

"Luongo missing the beginning of OT against the Ducks in 2007 comes to mind."

Linus Ullmark made two saves, while Forsberg ended the night with 30 saves in the Sens' 5-4 loss to the Avalanche.

How Colorado Avalance downed Ottawa Senators

On Sunday, the Colorado Avalanche secured a 5-4 win in a tightly contested matchup at Ball Arena.

Nikola Kovalenko opened the scoring for the Avalanche after putting them up 1-0 ten seconds before the second period.

Josh Manson scored another late goal to extend the home team's lead to 2-0 before heading into the third period.

The final period turned out to be the most thrilling and entertaining one, as both teams combined for a total of seven goals. Goals from Brady Tkachuk and Nick Cousins tied it 2-2 for the Senators.

At 13:29 into the third period, Logan O'Connor restored the Avs' lead to 3-2 before Ross Colton scored for a two-goal advantage. Claude Giroux found one back for Ottawa, cutting the deficit to 4-3.

Nathan MacKinnon then made it 5-3 for the Avalanche, before Giroux scored his second for the final scoreline of 5-4. Nick Cousins, Giroux, and Tkachuk all notched two points for Ottawa.

For Colorado, Casey Mittelstadt picked up three points, while Samuel Girard and MacKinnon accumulated two points apiece. The Senators take on the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.
