Swedish NHL stars Mika Zibanejad, Filip Forsberg and William Karlsson were celebrated with heartfelt posts from their families this Swedish Father’s Day. Swedish Father's Day, known as Fars dag, is celebrated on the second Sunday in November.
New York Rangers alternate captain Mika Zibanejad’s wife, Irma, shared an Instagram story featuring Zibanejad with their daughter, Ella. She posted an adorable picture of the father-daughter duo sitting on the steps of a playground.
Zibanejad dressed casually in a beige shirt and white shorts, while young Ella wore a red and white polka-dot shirt and black pants. Irma’s caption read:
"Swedish Father's Day! Only thing better than having you as my husband is Ella having you as her dad."

Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg’s wife, Erin Alvey, shared three Instagram stories celebrating Forsberg’s first Swedish Father’s Day as a dad to their son, Felix. In the first photo, Forsberg and their son wore matching red Liverpool sweatshirts as Filip held his son.
Alvey wrote some moving words on the occasion for her husband and the father of their son.
“The greatest gift our kids will ever have is being able to call you their Dad, Filip,” Alvey wrote. “Thank you for all you do to give us this beautiful life that the three of us share together. Happy 1st Swedish Father's Day, my sweet husband. We love you endlessly ❤️”

She next shared a picture of a Polaroid of Felix holding a Predators plushie. In the caption, she wrote:
“Pappa makes our world go 'round 🌎❤️ @forsbergfilip”

In the final story, Erin Alvey shared an adorable picture of Forsberg dressed sharply in a light suit and a fedora, smiling at Felix, who wears a bright yellow and navy jersey.
“The best ❤️,” she captioned the picture.

William Karlsson’s son visits father rinkside on Swedish Father's day
Vegas Golden Knights’ William Karlsson had an extra special day on the ice with his son Beckham coming to visit him at practice on Sunday. Karlsson’s wife, Emilia, shared a couple of Instagram stories on the occasion of Swedish Father’s Day.
In her first story, Emilia shared an adorable black-and-white photo of Karlsson holding Beckham. She wished the father of her child on Fars dag, writing:
“Glad fars dag. Happy Swedish Father's Day! Our boys are lucky to call you pappa @larswilliamkarlsson.”

Her second story showed Beckham at the hockey rink, watching his dad at practice in a cute Nike jacket. In the caption, Emilia added:
“Came to watch dada at practice today 🥰.”

Fars dag was introduced to Sweden from the United States in the 1930s, though at first it was celebrated in June like in the U.S. In 1949, Sweden, along with Norway, Finland and Iceland, agreed to move it to November, where it continues to be celebrated today.
