"That should fill James Reimer with PRIDE" - NHL Twitter backs Sharks goalie after insane performance vs Jets

Winnipeg Jets v San Jose Sharks
James Reimer's saves kept Winnipeg Jets away from scoring a single goal during Tuesday's matchup.

On Tuesday, March 28, James Reimer shone for the San Jose Sharks against the Winnipeg Jets.

The Jets attempted 41 SOGs during the game, all of which were saved by Reimer, allowing the Sharks to cruise to a 3-0 victory.

Following the game, Reimer was lauded by hockey fans for his outstanding performance. Here are a few of the reactions:

A few weeks a ago, James Reimer surrounded himself with controversy after he decided not to wear the LGBTQ+ pride jersey. He was heavily trolled and for his actions by the fans.

The Sharks goalie conceded in a 7-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. Reimer became the talk of the town once more, with many fans blaming him for his decision not to wear the pride jersey. However, the 35-year-old goaltender came out strong against the Jets on Tuesday, putting in one of his best performances in recent memory.

As per the quanthockey, James Reimer is currently ranked 24th in the list in terms of best goaltending records for the 2022-23 season. The 35-year-old has been a goaltender for the Sharks in 38 games and has a 11-18-8 record with a .895 save percentage.

At 9:51 of the first period, Noah Gregor put the puck in the net with a wrist shot for the Sharks. The game's second period ended goalless. Moving on to the third period, Kevin Labanc gave the Sharks a 2-0 lead at the 2:23 mark, while Martin Kaut scored the game-winning goal at the 17:57 mark to propel the Sharks to a 3-0 victory over the Jets.

The Sharks' victory was primarily due to goaltender James Reimer, who kept the Jets quiet throughout the game and denied their 41 shots on goal.

Meanwhile, this loss came as a major setback for Jets fans. The Winnipeg Jets are now in a vulnerable position for the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference as a result of this loss. The Calgary Flames (34-26-15) and Nashville Predators (37-28-8) both won on the night, putting them just two and three points behind the Jets in the Wild Card.
