The New York Rangers won in an OT thriller game against the Calgary Flames that had goals, all-out brawls and controversies. Irrespective of the result, both teams put on a great performance at Madison Square Garden in New York.

NHL Twitter reacted to what seemed to be the most entertaining game this season.

"If I were to design the ideal hockey game this @NHLFlames @NYRangers affair would be it. Goals. Saves. Hits. Fights. Controversy. Simply put - Passion. As a fan all I ask for is the game to be played with Passion. #NHL" - tweeted SNKenReid.
"Rangers! You have my heart right now! Amazing win. Amazing game. That was fun hockey. Wow!" tweeted cbear274.

Jacob Trouba, captain of the New York Rangers, landed two hard hits on opposing Flames' players and both hits led to fights that resulted in penalties against both teams.

"Trouba with 2 clean hits against the Flames and they keep picking fights with him. What’s the deal #nhl" tweeted noahhasson9.
"Trouba throws two monster hits, both of them clean, and has to answer the bell after each one. I’m for fighting in the game but if your guy takes a clean hit you shouldn’t be looking to fight the guy you should be looking to crush(cleanly) one of his guys back. #NHL #NYR " tweeted KevLege12.
"We have to stop having fights after every clean hit. It's ok, it happens. You'll be fine. Just get revenge legally on the next shift. It's the NHL not a senior men's league" tweeted MoneyMitchM21.

Filip Chytil scored two goals in today's game for the New York Rangers in the first and second periods.

Both teams scored during the power play in the second period with goals from Tyler Toffoli for the Calgary Flames and Mika Zibanejad for the Rangers.

Early in the third period, Andrew Mangiapane scored a controversial third goal for the Flames. The puck hit his skates and went into the goal. Flames were awarded the goal as the ruling on the ice was not a kicking motion.

Michael Stone gave the Flames the lead only to be equalized by Mika Zibanejad's second goal of the day, sending the game to overtime at 4-4.

Alexis Lafreniere scored the winning goal with 3:23 remaining in OT and gave the Rangers their 28th win to push them to third position in the NHL Metropolitan Division.
