J.T. Miller addressed the media ahead of the Vancouver Canucks's game against the Florida Panthers after missing the last ten games. Miller, who last played against the Nashville Predators, said he wouldn’t discuss the reasons behind his absence.
"Appreciate if we just stayed away from the reasons why I wasn't here," Miller told reporters. "From all you guys, you can ask all you want, but I'm not going to dive into the reasons why I wasn't here the last three, four weeks."
"So I'm here with the team, and I am ready to look forward to what's going to happen in the future, not necessarily what has happened in the past. So I know you guys are going to ask no matter what, but I'm just going to say, and I'm talking about it. I just wanna let you guys know ahead of time... Yeah, I'm excited to play. I want to play."
The Canucks shared J.T. Miller's video on X (formerly Twitter), sparking reactions from fans.
"No thanks to the club for support?" One fan questioned.
"He still sounds moody. What the heck is going on with JT?" Another noted.
"Disappears mid season in an unprecedented move, as I can't remember a player ever doing this and comes back pissy when someone asks him if he's going to be the same emotional player. This season is over 🤦," a fan said.
Here are some more reactions from fans on X.
"Reporters really trying to get JT. I admire that he’s drawing a boundary with what he went through. We don’t have to know and talking about might be a lot for him and we as a fanbase have to be accepting of that!!!" a fan wrote.
"Let's go JT. I'll be in the stands cheering you on. You've been missed...team's not the same without you." another fan wrote.
"Glad to see you back JT. Whatever was hope you found peace and comfort with it. Welcome back. #Canucks | #GoCanucksGo," one fan expressed.
J.T. Miller's return will boost Vancouver Canucks's offense
J.T. Miller will return to the Vancouver Canucks lineup on Thursday after almost three weeks. Before his absence, Miller had six goals and ten assists in 17 games. His early performance and Elias Pettersson's contributions have helped the Canucks maintain a 14-8-5 record and fourth place in the Pacific Division.
Over his NHL career, J.T. Miller has scored 244 goals and 411 assists in 816 games. His return is expected to help the Canucks, especially with his role in offense and special teams.
