On Monday, the New York Rangers extended defenseman Matthew Robertson's contract for another year. Robertson will earn $775,000 from his new contract, as reported by Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, hefor the Hartford Wolf Pack (New York Rangers' AHL affiliate) last season. Robertson scored four goals and had 17 assists in 68 games. He's been with Hartford for three seasons and has 55 points in total.
After the announcement on X (formerly Twitter), fans began reacting to the news.

However, not all fans were happy with Trouba getting an extension.

Chad Ruhwedel signs a one year contract with New York Rangers for 2024-25 season
The New York Rangers have secured defenseman Chad Ruhwedel for the upcoming season with a one-year contract, announced President and GM Chris Drury on July 13, 2024. Chad Ruhwedel wasn't picked in the NHL draft. Instead, he signed with the Sabres in 2013 after playing hockey at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. .
Ruhwedel split his 2023-24 campaign between the Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins, contributing one goal and three assists in 52 games.
Throughout his NHL scareer spanning 364 games with the New York Rangers, Penguins, and Buffalo Sabres, Ruhwedel has scored 13 goals and 36 assists. His best statistical year came in 2021-22 with career highs in goals, assists, points, hits, and blocked shots. A Stanley Cup winner with Pittsburgh in 2017, he's also seen playoff action, including a 12-game stint during the 2018 playoffs.
