Evander Kane is expected to be present at Donald Trump's inauguration for his second term as U.S. President on Monday at noon ET. The ceremony will take place on the west front of the U.S. Capitol. Chief Justice John Roberts will administer the oath of office.
President-elect Donald Trump held a rally at Capital One Arena on the eve of his second inauguration. In his speech, Trump said (per NY Times):
“Tomorrow at noon, the curtain closes on four long years of American decline, and we begin a brand-new day of American strength and prosperity, dignity and pride.”
Thousands are expected to attend the event, including Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane. According to an NBC news report, Kane is among several high-profile athletes and celebrities invited to the event. Other athletes include NFL’s Antonio Brown, boxing legend Mike Tyson and UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal.
Several music artists are also expected to attend. Rappers Rod Wave, Kodak Black and Fivio Foreign, who have supported Trump publicly, are on the guest list.
The inauguration will feature performances by well-known artists. Country singer Carrie Underwood, the wife of former hockey star Mike Fisher, will sing "America the Beautiful" with the Armed Forces Chorus. She said that she's honored to be a part of the historic event.
"I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event," Underwood said per USA Today on Thursday.
Opera singer Christopher Macchio will perform the national anthem. The Village People, known for their hit song "Y.M.C.A.," will also perform at related events.
Evander Kane’s fiancée Mara Teigen said she's "a Republican now"
Evander Kane’s fiancee Mara Teigen held an Instagram Q&A on Saturday and shared some updates. She revealed that her political views have changed from Democrat to Republican over the years and becoming a mother.
In her Instagram story, she wrote:
“I was a Democrat before. But after these past few years and becoming a mom, I am soooooo much a Republican now.”
Teigen used the hashtag “#makeamericagreatagain” to express her support for Donald Trump.
When asked about wedding plans, Teigen said that she hasn’t started yet, as she's focused on the birth of their daughter. She mentioned wanting a natural, stress-free wedding process after adjusting to life with four kids. Evander Kane and Teigen have two sons, Iverson and Hendrix, and co-parent Kane’s daughter, Kensington, from his previous marriage.
Teigen shared that her baby girl with Evander Kane is due in mid-April and that she will have a planned C-section.
