Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau went on a podcast to discuss the public perception of him, but former NHL star Theo Fleury isn't buying it. In the discussion, Trudeau mentioned the state of the world and social media as potential factors in why people may not like him.

Fleury offered a five-word takedown of the Canadian PM:

"You reap what you sow!!!"

Fleury played in Canada and represented the country in the Olympics, helping them win a gold medal. He also played for the Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks.

He spent 11 of his 15 seasons with the Flames, so he has been a staple of Canadian hockey.

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau praises Arshdeep Bains after first goal

Arshdeep Bains is a rookie for the Vancouver Canucks. He is from an Indo-Canadian Sikh family, which is not common in the NHL. Several people made it a point to congratulate Bains last month after his first NHL goal, but perhaps none more prominent than his country's leader.

Trudeau said on X:

"A hometown hero in the making. Congrats on your first NHL goal, Arshdeep!"

In that game, the 23-year-old Canucks rookie found himself in front of a loose puck against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He acted quickly, sending a pass over to Daniel Sprong. Sprong took the shot, but it was blocked by the goalie.

It bounced right back to Bains, who was waiting in front of a mostly open net. Thanks to the miss, the goalie was out of place, and Bains slotted it home to the pleasure of many Canadians, including Trudeau.

That goal was the difference in the game. It's also the only goal he's managed this season from six shots. It is also his only point, as the forward hasn't been on the ice all that often for Vancouver.
