Nashville Predators' alternate captain Filip Forsberg’s wife Erin Alvey is extending a heartwarming offer of aid for those affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
Wildfires have been raging across parts of LA, leading to at least 11 deaths, burning down hundreds of buildings, and prompting evacuation orders for tens of thousands across the county.
In a heartfelt message shared on her Instagram story, Alvey, who is a music icon, expressed the profound sadness she felt while scrolling through the distressing updates from the affected areas.
"The heartbreak that I've been scrolling through stories of LA's devastation has been met with such a fierce profusion of humans stepping up and trying to help in as many ways as possible. Sending so many prayers and so much love to everyone affected in any capacity. We are all standing behind you, LA." Filip Forsberg’s wife wrote.
Alvey's message was accompanied by a photo of the beloved television personality Fred Rogers with his quote:
"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'"
Alvey made a remarkable offer, extending open arms to any LA friends who may be in need of a place to stay.
"Our doors are open to LA friends who need a place to land," she wrote.
Despite the valiant efforts of thousands of firefighters, the largest blazes remain mostly uncontrolled as weather conditions and climate change continue to fuel the flames. Authorities expect the death toll to rise.
