Marc Methot condemns anti-Semitic rally, criticizes Canadian political leadership's inaction

Former NHL player Marc Methot has expressed outrage over an anti-Semitic rally near Ottawa's Parliament Hill, condemning the event as "unacceptable".

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Marc Methot voiced his disbelief, particularly emphasizing the location of the rally in the heart of the nation's capital.

He highlighted his personal experiences, recalling friendships with people of the Muslim faith and encounters at the gym, portraying them as "really solid people." However, he drew a stark line at the actions witnessed at the rally, indicating a breach of acceptable behavior within Canadian society.

"My God. In Canada? On Parliament Hill? I grew up around a lot of Muslim buddies in high school and run into many at the gym. Really solid people." Methot shared on X
"But there’s a line and this is unacceptable, particularly here in our country. And now you have a bunch of weird mask wearing communists latching on to the movement. (See the flags)" Methot added

Marc Methot's statement reflected not only his condemnation of the anti-Semitic rally but also his broader concern about societal trends. He expressed dismay at the presence of individuals he characterized as "weird mask wearing communists" aligning themselves with the movement.

The former NHL player's comments extended beyond the specific incident to encompass a broader critique of the country's political leadership. He criticized Canadian politicians as "gutless," implicating them in the failure to address such issues effectively.

"Wtf is happening to our once great country? Our politicians are gutless. All of them." Methot said
