Rumors of a conflict between Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak have sparked discussion among NHL fans online. On Friday, Rich Keefe claimed on the "Jones & Keefe" podcast that the Bruins' locker room is struggling because of the Marchand-Pastrnak conflict.
"The locker room is a disaster, and David Pastrnak is at the center of that," Keefe said. "David Pastrnak has told the team he doesn't want to be on a line with Brad Marchand, and it may stem from Brad Marchand calling out Pastrnak for some of his play."
Fans reacted to Keefe's claim. Some doubted his claim, while others joked about its potential consequences.
"Two guys not in the locker room commenting on what’s going on in the locker room" one fan tweeted.
"Miller and Marchand in the locker room trying to bully each other for the rest of the year would be a sight to behold for the B's," a fan tweeted.
"I don’t know how people actually believe that. Like come on. With Bergeron, they were the perfection line. They also have played on the same line multiple times and they didn’t seem to have any issues. Stop creating stuff like that please," another fan tweeted.
"This is what happens when you get a familiar coach that the Bruins know I can’t stress you have to clean house starting from up to Don SweeneyNeely coaching staff, but they’re not going to do that. You can't move forward unless you do that," one fan tweeted.
However, since the report came to light, both Bruins players addresses the situation with Marchand going as far as to labelling it as "embarrassing".
