Habs forward Patrik Laine’s fiancee Jordan Leigh was in attendance during the Canadiens' Tuesday night game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Leigh teamed up with the couple's mental health organization, From Us to You, and the Canadiens, to organize a special puck giveaway aimed at engaging fans and promoting mental health awareness.
The contest was announced through the Montreal Canadiens’ Instagram stories, which Leigh also shared on her own account. Fans were invited to find Leigh near section 117 to receive one of 10 commemorative Hockey Talks pucks, provided by From Us to You.
“The first 10 fans to find us here now near section 117 will receive a free commemorative Hockey Talks puck courtesy of @fromustoy0u”, read the caption of the ones of the stories.
Leigh greeted fans wearing a Canadiens jersey, posed for photos, and handed out the limited-edition pucks to the winners. The initiative received a great response, with all 10 pucks claimed during the game.
“All 10 pucks have been claimed! Congrats to all the winners!”, confirmed the Habs Instagram account.
The event was part of the Hockey Talks campaign, a league-wide annual initiative dedicated to raising awareness and fostering conversations about mental health.
Patrik Laine’s fiancee Jordan Leigh shares incident that left her ‘terrified’
Earlier last weekend, Jordan Liegh shared a funny story on Instagram about a mix-up that left her momentarily terrified. Leigh described how she accidentally scared Laine in the middle of the night after the Montreal Canadiens forward returned home from a stretch of away games.
In a video posted on Sunday, Leigh explained that Laine and his team had been traveling extensively, leaving her accustomed to sleeping alone during his absences. In the middle of the night, Leigh woke up and, forgetting that Laine had returned, thought a stranger was in her bed.
“So last night in the middle of the night, I wake up. I think I had a bad dream or something and for some reason my brain didn't register that Patty was home because I'm used to being by myself lately and I see this figure sleeping in my bed next to me and I started screaming like bloody murder. Like it terrified me, terrified me so bad.”
Leigh mentioned that her nerves had been on edge due to recent reports of break-ins at athletes’ homes while they were traveling for games. She also acknowledged how the stress of these stories had been affecting her and joked that she hoped to adjust soon for both her sake and Laine’s.
