Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine’s fiancee Jordan posted an Instagram Story to celebrate the team’s recent nailbiting victory. Laine scored the game-winning goal in the Habs' 5-4 overtime win against the NY Rangers on Sunday.
Jordan shared a short clip of Laine celebrating after putting the puck into the net.
“Patty OT goal,” Jordan wrote.
Laine spoke to the media after the game and said that the win was the perfect way to bounce back from their loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
“We obviously wanted to bounce back after last night (a 7-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs)," Laine said, via NHL.com. "That was a tough one. We were giving them a couple of freebies tonight, and we knew that if we just stayed with the way we were playing we would get the results at some point.”
Montreal goalie Jakub Dobes has five wins in his first five NHL starts for the team and made 23 saves on Sunday. Dobes got the win the hard way as the Canadiens came from behind four times to tie before Laine scored in OT.
“And not everything was going my way today, so it was a battle," Dobes said, via NHL.com. "My mind was definitely racing a little bit but we got it done, so we are going to celebrate with my dad and I’m just really happy that we got the win.”
The victory marked the 12th time the Canadiens have scored four game-tying goals in franchise history.
Jordan shares fan portrait of ‘star’ Patrik Laine
On Wednesday, Patrik Laine's fiancee Jordan shared "the cutest" drawing of him on her Instagram Story. In the short clip, she featured a young fan wearing a Habs jersey holding a portrait that showed Laine as a starfish with the text "Patrik the Star."
“I made this for him because he’s a star," The child said. "Patrik’s a star too, like a starfish. And Patrik Laine’s so good at hockey.”
An inset picture in the clip showed Laine holding the starfish drawing with a smile on his face. Laine, who has been on a scoring streak, reached the 400-point milestone last week. He has 403 points from 498 games and has scored four goals in his last five games.
