The short reel featured a young Habs fan displaying his imaginative sketch of Patrik Laine as a starfish, titled ‘Patrik the Star’. The child said in the video:

“I made this for him because he’s a star. Patrik’s a star too, like a starfish. And Patrik Laine’s so good at hockey.”

A smaller picture in the video showed Patrik holding up the starfish drawing with a smile on his face.

He has been on a hot streak recently, scoring 10 goals in his last 15 games. He reached the significant milestone of 400 career goals during the Canadiens’ 5-3 win over the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday.

Jordan posted a congratulatory message about the achievement on her Instagram.

“Proud of my love,” the caption read.

Jordan and Patrik announced their engagement in August 2024.

Patrik Laine and Jordan Leigh launch a mental health initiative

Jordan is a model and studying to be a mental health counselor at NYU. In August 2024, she and Patrik jointly launched From Us To You, an online mental health initiative and community program aimed at providing people with access to support to overcome adversity.

The program’s Instagram bio reads, A safe space to share, inspire, support, and grow together. Patrik posted a video on Instagram announcing the launch.

“A lot of you have reached out to us with your own personal mental health stories,” Laine said in the video. “Even more of you have expressed the value that comes from speaking out. We wanted to do something to continue the conversation.”

The Finnish forward spent a lot of time in 2024 off the ice after he signed up for the NHL’s players’ assistance program. Laine, who was playing for the Columbus Blue Jackets at the time, entered the program in January 2024. He was treated for a duration of six months and released in July.

He was traded to the Habs in the 2024-25 preseason but suffered a knee injury during an exhibition game which kept him off the roster for the first two months of the season. He made his Habs debut on Dec. 3, scoring a goal against the New York Islanders.
