Shania Twain, a Canadian icon and Grammy winner, pumped up Edmonton Oilers fans by putting on a show in the Ice District before the Oilers' remarkable Game 4 win over the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday.
Twain also got the chance to experience the electric Rogers Place and extend her support for the Oilers. It turned out to be an exciting game for her to attend, as she witnessed an impressive 8-1 victory from the home team and extend the series to Game 5.
She also posted pictures with Edmonton Oilers players after the game. Meanwhile, NHL fans on X/Twitter requested her to travel with the Oilers quad to Florida to continue her "good luck charm".
One fan tweeted:
"Please travel with the team! You’re a good luck charm!"
Another fan chimed in and requested the Canadian icon to accompany the Edmonton Oilers team to Florida for Game 5, referring to her as the team's lucky charm:
"By any chance, could you go with them to Florida for Game 5? you seem to be a good luck charm for the boys!! Boy, what a game!!"
"Need to go with the team to Florida and then come back here for game 6," another tweeted.
Here are some of the other top reactions on X:
"I was teasing ppl before the game that the Oilers need to play good enough to actually impress Shania lol - they defs did that."
"Please be at the next 3 games. You’re their lucky charm," another X user requested.
"Ok but now you’re the good luck charm, so you’re Still The One that has to sing before each game!" posted another X user.
This was not the first time Shania Twain was cheering alongside fans during the Stanley Cup playoff games. In last year's playoffs, she got the Vegas Golden Knights crowd pumped up before Game 6 of their Western Conference matchup against the Dallas Stars in the first round.
Connor McDavid and Edmonton Oilers hope to bring series back to Alberta
McDavid finally scored a Stanley Cup Final goal in Game 4's 8-1 win over the Florida Panthers. He also notched up three assists in the matchup as well, taking his tally to 32 for the season, breaking Wayne Gretzky's playoff record of 31 assists in the process.
However, the task isn't finished for the Edmonton Oilers, as they face a significant challenge ahead to secure the Cup. The Oilers are down 3-1 in the series and must achieve three more consecutive victories to claim the Cup.
It's worth noting that this feat hasn't been accomplished since the 1942 Maple Leafs did it against the Red Wings. McDavid and Co. are aiming to secure a victory in Florida to drag Game 6 back to Alberta.
"It's just one win, that's all it is," McDavid said [via NHL.com], the Edmonton captain. "It doesn't matter if you score eight or you score one, it's just one win. We've got to go to Florida, do a job and drag them back to Alberta."
Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at Amerant Bank Arena.
