The Vancouver Canucks go on the road to play the Edmonton Oilers in a preseason game on Monday. This will be the penultimate preseason game for the Canucks.
Vancouver is 2-2 in preseason play and has already made some training camp cuts as its NHL roster is starting to take shape.
Ahead of the preseason game on Monday, here's what the Canucks lineup could look like.
Predicted Canucks lineup tonight
Forwards
- Jake DeBrusk - J.T. Miller - Daniel Sprong
- Danton Heinen - Aatu Raty - Brock Boeser
- Phillip Di Giuseppe - Teddy Blueger - Jonathan Lekkerimaki
- Arshdeep Bains - Pius Suter - Kiefer Sherwood
Canucks star forward J.T. Miller should be back in the lineup as he said on Thursday he was ready to play.
“I'm obviously ready to play,” Miller said, via Sportsnet. “The preseason, it's never pretty, let's be honest. It's all about just trying to worry about your habits and trying to get those in the right spot. Then hopefully... typically by Game 6, we play pretty close to the full team, and it feels a little better as we go.
"I'm obviously going to get in soon. I'll play a couple of games probably.”
The Canucks should play most of their starters in the final two preseason games.
Defenseman
- Quinn Hughes - Noah Juulsen
- Carson Soucy - Tyler Myers
- Derek Forbort - Vincent Desharnais
Vancouver will play plenty of its regular defensemen on Monday as the Canucks only have two preseason games left to get ready for the start of the season.
Goalies
- Kevin Lankinen
- Nikita Tolopilo
Lankinen is expected to play the entire game on Monday.
“That's always the exciting thing when you get into a new team, just doing the new colours, getting a new mask,” Lankinen said about joining the team. “It never gets old, I'll tell you that. Even after 10 years playing pro, I mean, it's always like a mini-Christmas for goalies.”
