New York Rangers fans voiced their frustration on social media following a crushing 6-1 defeat to the Buffalo Sabres at MSG on Thursday night.

Igor Shesterkin struggled to find his form, and the Blueshirts were unable to support their franchise goalie, leading to his benching after allowing five goals.

However, Shesterkin wasn't solely at fault, as the Rangers' defense appeared sloppy and passive throughout the game, offering little assistance. Meanwhile, the Sabres showed their offensive depth, with six different players scoring in the victory.

Here's how fans on X (formerly Twitter) reacted to the Rangers' defeat. One tweeted:

"Pull Igor's offer and negotiate after the season. Waive Miller Zibanejad and Trouba. Get some players with fire in their belly. This was PATHETIC."

Another chimed in:

"Somehow Mika is the worst forward on the team."

Here are some of the other top reactions on X:

"Another game where they look like they had ZERO interest in even being there mentally and physically, no hitting, soft defense and predictable passing plays," one fan expressed.
"Absolutely trash. We were awful against the panthers last year and made no changes. Kept mika and kept lindgren who obviously dragging the team down. It’s a joke," another said.
"Whoever bought my tickets off StubHub for this debacle; I’m sorry but you can’t have a refund," one added.
"Why would somebody change lines on a team that’s been dominating the first few weeks of the season? another said.

This game marked back-to-back wins for the Buffalo Sabres (8-7-1), who sit sixth in the Atlantic Division.
