St. Louis Blues forward Radek Faksa sustained a concerning injury during Tuesday's game against the Vancouver Canucks.
In the third period, while battling for the puck along the boards, he appeared to suffer a cut from a skate in the groin area and immediately left the ice for the locker room.
Sports injury expert Dr. Harjas Grewal commented on the situation, expressing concern for Faksa's femoral artery, which is a major blood vessel that would require immediate medical attention if damaged.
"Really hope his femoral artery is ok as it is a large vessel and carries a lot of blood and would need emergency repair. Still lots of other important structures including nerves, veins, muscles etc," Grewal posted on X.
St. Louis Blues' new coach Jim Montgomery clarified that Faksa sustained a cut near his private area.
"The cut was ... I'm not a doctor ... real close to his privates," he said ahead of the game against the Sharks.
Radek Faksa has racked up seven points through two goals and five assists in 29 games.
