NHL fans on the internet were divided after star forward David Pastrnak was benched during the Boston Bruins' 2-0 win over the Seattle Kraken on Sunday.

Pastrnak sat out in the third period and when asked about the decision, Jim Montgomery explained that it was simply a "coach's decision." He had an ice time of 14 minutes and 21 seconds and registered seven shots and two blocks before getting benched.

David Pastrnak leads the club in scoring, with 11 points, through six goals and five assists in 13 games this season. Meanwhile, captain Brad Marchand trails him with 10 points (three goals and seven assists).


David Pastrnak and Bruins win back-to-back games

The Boston Bruins bounced back with consecutive wins after their crushing 8-2 defeat to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday. They shut out the Kraken at TD Garden on Sunday.

Jeremy Swayman stood strong in goal, making 23 saves. Justin Brezeau opened the scoring for the home team, putting them ahead at 3:23 into the first period. Charlie McAvoy scored on the powerplay at 9:57, sealing the game for the Bruins.

The Bruins moved to fourth place in the Atlantic Division with two points on the night. They next travel to Scotiabank Arena to face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday (Nov. 5). The puck drops at 7 p.m. ET.
