Paul Bissonnette was involved in a fight last weekend. On Sunday evening, he stepped in to help a restaurant manager deal with an unruly group of guests. When he asked them to stop or there might be issues, they all jumped him.
New footage has surfaced of these particular offenders engaging in similar behavior previously. They went to Houston's, the restaurant Bissonnette frequents, after causing issues at a Phoenix golf club.
Bissonnette was scathing in his response to the footage on Friday.
"After this these motherf*****s came over to Houston’s restaurant to do the same fucking thing," Bissonnette wrote on X. "Released with no bail the following day. Complete scum of the earth. I’m going to do everything I can to ruin these f***s. This is a disgrace."
Bissonnette was one man who took on a group of seven, as he claimed and came out relatively fine. His boss, Dave Portnoy, texted him after the incident, and the former NHL player said he gave out more punishment than he received.
That punishment may not have ended after the fight, as the former Pittsburgh Penguins player has sworn not to let them rest after uncovering more questionable behavior.
Paul Bissonnette took refuge in local CVS
Paul Bissonnette's fight with seven men at a local restaurant spilled into the parking lot. Eventually, the former hockey player had to take refuge in the nearby CVS.
“I’m just glad I got in that CVS, although the lady working the CVS was like, ‘Sir, you can’t be in here.’ And I’m like, ‘Ma’am, there is a pack of hyenas out there that is ready to attack me if I leave the store,’” he said via Sportsnet on Tuesday.
Bissonnette estimated that he was involved in the fight, which cost him his shirt, for almost four minutes. He was eventually taken to a local hospital with some soreness and swelling. No major injuries were sustained, though the conflict may not be over.
The former NHL player was known for fighting during his time in the league, and that skill has apparently stuck with him through retirement.
